1 tr16_603 No. 355 of the '700' class of thirty goods engines built in 1897 by Dubs and Company of Glasgow for the London and South Western Railway to the design of Dugald Drummond. Several of the class were re-numbered in 1898, taking numbers from withdrawn locomotives, thus No.715 became No.355 at that time. The head-code denotes a 'Through Goods or Mineral' train and in this case an 'Empty Stock' train, which is seen leaving from the west end of Bournemouth Central station c.1910. (Information from Gareth Spencer and Transports of Delight 26/06/2019). |
