Transcript of the Will of Catherine PRIVETT {formerly DIAPER/nee BISHOP}: written 13 Feb 1798, proved 20 Aug 1798 (as written)

In the Name of God Amen. I Catherin PRIVETT of Bishop Waltham in the County of Southampton Widow being Sick and infirm in Body but of sound and disposing mind and memory and understanding. Thanks to Almighty God. Do make this my last will and Testament. And to such worldly Effects ware with hath pleased God to Bless me Withal Dispose there of as follows. First My will is to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor here in after named. My will is that all my jest debt and funeral expenses shall be fully paid and satisfied. Also I give and bequeath to my two daughters Catherin DIPER the wife of Paul WEBB and to Ann DIPER the wife of James SIMES the sum of Ten pounds Each to be paid to them with in Twelve month after my decease. And I bequeath to five of my children Sarah PRIVETT, John PRIVETT, William PRIVETT, Thomas PRIVETT and Elizabeth PRIVETT the sum of Sixty pounds Each, to be paid to them as the come of age And my desire is these monies placed out at Interest under the Direction of my Executor and the Intrest to be paid to them as he comes due and my will is if either of my five children should dye before they Comes of age these monies shall be devied between they surevion of my fore menchion Children. And Also my Will is I bequeath to my Son Edward PRIVETT all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Ready monies and Security for monies property and Effects whatsoever and of what nature or Kind soever for his use and disposal. And my will is my son Edward PRIVETT Shall keep and provide for all his Brothers and Sisters until they Comes of Age if they Should so long think proper to live with him, to assist him in his Business. - And I do here by make nominat constitute and appoint my son Edward PRIVETT and Charles PAFOOT Cooper of Bishop Waltham Executor pf this my last will and testament and my will and meaning is that my Said Executors Shall at all Reimburse their selves in all such Expenses they may be put into in and about the Execution of this my will and that they shall not be Answerable or Accountable for any Cost that may happen of my part of th said trust monies, Unless the same shall happen through their own willfull neglect. In witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament Contained in one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and ninety Eight.

Signed Sealed and Declared by the within named Catherin PRIVETT the Testatrix as for her last will and Testament in the presence of us who in the presence of the said Testatrix and also in the presence of each other at Her request have subscribed our names as witness thereto the word (the) being inter Lined.

On the 20 of August 1798 Edward PRIVETT and Charles PAFOOT were duly sworn to administer the effects of the within named Testatrix. And that the same did not Amount at the time of her death to Six Hundred Pounds as they believe.
